Your role with us

This is an opportunity to work within our Finance Directorate and support the FCDO’s global network while you work towards a Level 3 Business Administrator qualification. The Apprenticeship takes 16 months to complete, after which you will receive a Certificate in Business Administration. During the apprenticeship, you will receive ongoing support from your Apprenticeship Trainer and your FCDO Line Manager.

You will spend at least 20% of your time on apprentice-related training and assignments, covering everything from effective communication to stakeholder management and presentation skills. You will spend the rest of your time providing customer-focused support in office administration, transaction processing, projects, budgets, customer service and communications. We will assign you a role within the department based on your skills and experience.

Who we’re looking for

In addition to good literacy and numeracy skills, you’ll be enthusiastic about providing excellent administration services. Eager to learn, you’ll want to gain the knowledge and expertise necessary to become an outstanding business administration professional. Organised and accountable, you’ll be committed to providing the best customer service. Experience using Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams and Windows 10 is essential.

You must be a British Citizen at the time of application and, if invited to interview, you will need to bring your British Passport with you.

This role requires you to attain Security Check (SC) security clearance.
