People Administrator Apprentice

The People team ensure ‘Opensignalers’ have the best possible employee experience throughout their journey. You will report into the Senior Director, People but will work closely with the People Advisor and Talent Manager; supporting hiring efforts and global teams, ensuring they are set up for success. This exciting role offers a genuine impact from day one and an exciting opportunity for the right person to kickstart their career in HR.

A typical day

  • Manage the advertisement for all open positions at Opensignal
  • Effectively coordinate interviews for candidates
  • Keep our applicant tracking system up to date
  • Support creating employment contract paperwork
  • Conduct reference checks and gain right to work documentation
  • Liaise with IT team to ensure equipment is issued and returned efficiently
  • Send out new joiner ‘swag bags’ before the first day
  • Take meeting notes in exit interviews and support the offboarding process
  • Ensure employee records are accurately updated within our suite of people tools
  • Support global payroll processes by producing any necessary reports
  • Support with organising and scheduling our cultural events and company meetings
  • Coordinate the celebration of key work milestones including work anniversaries, promotions, employee recognition awards and important life events such as birthdays and parenthood
  • Take responsibility for sending out our quarterly care packages to our global teams
  • Support the Operations Manager with the organsiation of company away days

You must have

  • Five GCSE grades C – A* (4-9) or equivalent, including English and Maths

Skills needed

  • You understand the importance of high-quality output, including rigorously detailed and sensitive information and systems
  • You enjoy following well-documented processes and are interested in uncovering new ways to automate workflows via digital tools
  • You have great communication skills, both written and orally; and the confidence to communicate professionally at all levels
  • You’re an organisational wizard, with proven coordination skills and the ability to manage your time effectively
  • You enjoy supporting others in solving challenges, showing creativity and resilience in your approach
