Based on the Cornish coast, we’re a multi-channel lifestyle brand with over 70 shops across the UK & Ireland, over 400 wholesale stockists and a growing online business.

At Seasalt, we are passionate about developing our people and our community. One of the ways we are doing this is through apprenticeships! If you’re ready to embark on your career journey, a Seasalt apprenticeship could be for you.

This apprenticeship sits within our Technology Operations & Offline team, who work to keep our technology safe, legal and compliant, along with our Retail stores. This apprenticeship offers an opportunity to build credibility and relationships within Technology and across the business, while gaining valuable technological skills.

As a Junior Support Technician apprentice, you’ll work with the Technology Operations & Offline team and the wider business to achieve department and company objectives in line with the business vision. This involves supporting our employees with IT issues, including creation of support tickets, assigning tickets, following up on queries, responding to contact from end users, and updating and maintaining documentation within specified service level agreements (SLA’s).

Please note, as part of our Seasalt Connected approach to ways of working, this role will be based flexibly across our Cornwall head office locations – Falmouth and Redruth for a minimum of two days per week – and working remotely from home.

Please note that this role is internally known as “Junior Support Technician Apprentice”.

You’ll help us by:

One of your main responsibilities will be to act a point of contact for the Technology Operations & Offline team, responding to calls, emails and assisting with 1st line tickets from Seasalt colleagues regarding technical issues and logging them into our IT Service Management tool. These may include: password resets/locked accounts, account creation, basic office troubleshooting, stuck transactions, and any other well-documented fixes.

You’ll monitor the team mailbox, ensuring it is well maintained, organised, and that queries are responded to in a timely fashion.

Additionally, you’ll support with 3rd party requests, communicating with them to log issues, or working to ensure tickets are followed up and responded to within an appropriate timeframe.

As well as the above, you’ll assist with any routine checks on interfaces, backups and systems, and updating relevant documentation when requested.

The skills you’ll be sharing with the team:

If you are interested in this exciting career prospect, it’s not just about your grades from school or college. We’re interested to find out more about your skills and interest in this apprenticeship.

If you are proactive, have an eagerness to learn and a passion for technology, you could thrive in this role. Strong organisation, communication and analytical skills are key, alongside being able to work well as a team. An excellent problem solver, you’ll be able to effectively prioritise tasks and enjoy working under pressure. Perhaps you have developed these skills through extra curriculum activities, hobbies or through previous work experience. Wherever you have used these skills previously, we want to hear from you!

An apprenticeship is a great way to start your career, with the opportunity to progress into roles such as Technical Support Co-ordinator, Support Technician or other roles across Technology.

The apprenticeship:

As one of our Apprentices, you will be on a 2-year fixed term contract starting in September 2024. Your working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

With support from your line manager and the Training & Early Career Advisor, you will be working towards a Level 3 Information Communications Technician standard. This will give you an opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge of technology functions as well as gaining experience within the Technology Operations & Offline team departments.

We are looking at recruiting on potential and your enthusiasm to succeed. Because of this, we will be running an Assessment Day to find out more about your skills for this role. The Assessment Day for this role is taking place on: Monday 8th July.
