Who can do an apprenticeship?

As long as you are 16 or over, live in the UK and are not in full-time education, almost anyone can do an apprenticeship.

Each apprenticeship will have specific entry requirements which you must meet, and you may also be competing for a place on an apprenticeship against several other candidates.

You are never guaranteed a place on an apprenticeship, but there’s nothing to stop you from applying.

However, you can’t do an apprenticeship at the same or a lower level to a qualification you already have on a similar course.

Your level of qualification and your age will probably determine which level of apprenticeship you do.
