What is a Level 3 apprenticeship equivalent to?

A Level 3 apprenticeship is an advanced apprenticeship and is the equivalent of two good A-Level passes. This type of apprenticeship is usually for school leavers who wish to gain qualifications in a particular field or discipline while earning a living wage.

To apply for a Level 3 apprenticeship, you must be 16 or over and living in the UK. You also can’t be in full-time education, as an apprenticeship is full-time education. The entry requirements for a Level 3 apprenticeship will vary slightly, depending on the company and role, but usually include GCSE passes A-C in at least Maths and English. Some Level 3 apprenticeships can facilitate you gaining such qualifications in the first year of your apprenticeship, so it needn’t be a deal-breaker.

A Level 3 apprenticeship usually takes around two years to complete.
